The role of Immigration is to ensure our borders are protected at points of entry by effectively screening visitors to the Cook Islands and to facilitate the movement of natural persons into and out of the country.
Nine Residents awarded Permanent Residency Status

A Ceremony was held at Government House in Vaimaanga on 18 February 2009 to confer the status of Permanent Residency (PR) to nine new residents. The nine were approved for grant of permanent residency in early 2008 but were unable to attend the PR ceremonies held in Rarotonga and Aitutaki in April 2008.
